Location
West Raynham Park is 8 miles from Fakenham, a
Georgian market town voted the 7th best place to live in
Britain by Country Life magazine. Dereham is 11 miles
away and the sandy beaches of the North Norfolk coast
are only 12 miles away. The towns offer a good choice
of shops, supermarkets, banks, libraries, dentists and a
selection of good primary and secondary schools.
Leisure interests include many golf courses, a
racecourse at Fakenham, museums in Gressenhall,
Sandringham and Walsingham and the Nature reserves
of Titchwell and Pensthorpe Waterfowl Park are nearby.
The silver sand beaches of Brancaster offer kite surfing
and there is sailing at Brancaster Staithe. Riding and
walks along the National Trail can be enjoyed covering
PeddarsWay, the Norfolk Coast path and the Nar Valley.
Stately homes - Sandringham, Blickling, Holkham and
Houghton - are nearby along with historic abbeys,
priories and gardens open to the public.
